Image by Maurizio Polese. Somewhere I would like to go to recuperate.

It’s Monday, isn’t it?

Huh.

Well, it doesn’t feel like one. Maybe that’s why I forgot to blog.

But I remembered!!! yay!

So, briefly, here’s my revision recuperation:

let me know if you’ve come up with anything better–

  • read Hex Hall
  • eat food at Grandparents’ (A LOT OF FOOD)
  • go tubing on the lake– I AM THE BEST AT TUBING. NO ONE CAN FLIP ME OFF THAT THING!!! YOU SHOULD GO WITH  ME NEXT TIME!!!
  • go canoeing– let’s just say I sat in the front and enjoyed the scenery while Kissyface steered from the back and it was WONDERFUL.
  • read Beautiful Creatures
  • work on crit buddy’s critique
  • sit on the porch and maybe read Shiver (if there’s time)

and I allllllmost feel ready to start re-revising. Which I will tomorrow.

I highly recommend the above activities or similar ones to anyone recuperating from reviseitis (inflammation of the revision).

If you have successfully found a cure/balm/respite from reviseitis, please do share.

  • Welcome Back! Sounds like you have a pretty good reviseitis cure to me. I’d probably throw in a bubble bath and a bottle of wine, but that’s just me.

You’re not giving yourself much time off though are you?

Oh, and Kissyface must be quite the Natty Bumpo with all the canoeing you guys do.

    • lol…I feel like I have no time to take off. Publishing happens so quickly–I must keep up! syke. I don’t know why I’m doing it to myself. I’ll call you crying one of these days and you can say, “I told you so…”

Also-I’m off to look up Natty Bumpo. Fabulous name.

  • Hey, welcome back!!

No cure here…I haven’t really gotten far enough into a project for reviseitis to be a problem :)
Sounds like you’ve had/will have (I can’t tell if your list is past or future tense) a great vacation! Don’t spend too much time revising, though, lol.
    Also, I love that picture.

  • OMG! How many books are you reading at the same time. Hex Hall is definitely a great choice. Haven’t read Shiver yet, but it’s on my bookshelf.

Enjoy your revisions. That’s my favorite part of writing. :D

    • lol. Books and Chipotle are my major vices. MAJOR. Lets just say i have an awesomely patient husband and I’ve forced myself to read while riding in the car without puking. It’s amazing how much you can read while someone else is driving.

  • My remedy? Strong coffee and a clear head (which I get from starting early and drinking coffee). Repeat (coffee) as needed.

I’m starting my four days of writing/revising bliss tomorrow. My house is a million degrees with no AC so I think I’m going to flee to an air conditioned coffee shop.

    Sounds like you’re having fun.
